How Tiny Layer Lab began

Tiny Layer Lab started with a young maker’s curiosity and a simple question that kept coming back: “Can we print that?” What began as hands-on experimentation with printers, models, colours and materials grew into a small creative venture built around turning ideas into real, holdable things.

What does Tiny Layer Lab create?

Tiny Layer Lab creates articulated creations, original figurines, models, keychains, desk accessories, decorative pieces and personalized prints. We also take on custom work, including custom human figurines and made-to-request FDM projects, each reviewed individually so we can understand the idea and suggest the best way to bring it to life.

Learning through making

Agastya is involved in the creative side of Tiny Layer Lab — exploring ideas, selecting and trying designs, printing, testing and learning through every project. Each print is a small lesson: how parts fit and move, how materials and colours behave, how print settings change the result, and how every failed print points to a better next attempt.

Sharing the excitement of 3D printing

Part of the Tiny Layer Lab journey is sharing the excitement of 3D printing with the wider community. As a community-learning milestone, Tiny Layer Lab was included in the House of Wisdom programme “Little Talents in House: Tiny Layer Lab: From Ideas to 3D Creations”, publicly listed by the House of Wisdom.

Tiny Layer Lab is a young-maker venture that is parent-managed in Dubai, UAE. Agastya leads the creative and learning side — ideas, designs, printing and testing — while a parent handles the commercial, customer-service and order-management side, so the making stays at the heart of everything.
